The FM98620LP Christmascast is a recent install of Opentape 0.1.2 that allows uploads of mp3s up to 7 Megabytes in size through its admin panel. You click a title and it plays the file. You click again and it stops. Once started it keeps playing until the end of the list unless it was stopped first. You can right click the MP3 tag to the right of each title to download that file, useful for sharing. And for determining a play order for programming purposes - a build zone for the playlist.

It also generates an embed code for the playlist:

<object width="300" height="160">
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
<param name="movie" value="" />
<embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="300" height="160"></embed>

It could still be used by a team collaborating on a playlist for a program on a community radio station as long as everyone in the group had the password. Or used by a producer or a DJ to archive sonics. Or a musician to store mixes at a domain.

In the meantime, playlists can still be crafted collectively by listing them on a page here in the wiki as illustrated by the Christmas Eve page started here which has the advantage of space for show notes the Opentape playlist does not.
